The local postmaster, Mr Ansell, supplies us with-the following copy of circular -received on November 12, 1912 :—Commencing from to»-day fruit may be^accepied for. transmission by parcel post at the rates of 3d for the first pound and-; l£d for each succeeding pound or fraction of a poiiiid up up to 1 lib for offices served by railway, coach or steamor, Each parcel ; is to te securely packfid.so.that.its contents cannot exude or in any way cause damage to other parcels in: the mail. The regulations prescribing liquid tins for the transmission of soft fruit must be strictly complied with." ~
