THE FOUR DARE DEVILS.
On Wednesday evening in the Foresters' Hall the Wide World Picture Co will screen among others, the above named film.
That such efforts, such btaging. such realism can be produced upon a flat surface is nothing short of marvellous; that without one word being spoken our feelings should be so roused is littJe short of a miracle. In the " Four Dare Devils " thero is hardly an emotion with which we humans are.blessed — or cursed—that is not laid bare and that being so, as humans wo respond to them. Old Cecci is n dancing' master and circus hand. In his care he lias two little girls whom he is rearing for the profession. A poor mother biinga her two fatherless boys to him, and for a lew pieces of nionoj literal!}' sells 'them to him. JJrought thus together the four children are lauglit by Cecci to daijco, go through circus riding, and perform on the lHying trapeze. Engaged at a music hall they become a great success. Night after night tho children go through their monotonous lound, whilst Cecci has convival times with the manager. Several yeais pass, the children, who have been dubbed " The Four Dare Devils," art; now young men anu women. Cecci dies, I and their employment ends. Without | funds Avhat is to become of them ? Airnee—the girl who loves Frederick —decides the problem by selling her trinkets. They start out;, as a " Star Troupe " and are sought for eveiywhere. A great circus takes place. The management want a handsome man to take the place of first groom, so they ask Frederick. The public come in, great ladies, fine gentlemen, and—the countess, who falls in love with Frederick, and desiios to meet him. Frederick also falls in love with the fair stranger, and his demeanour to Aimeo is cold and indifferent. He waits until the others havfc rethed to rest and slips out into the night. Aimee follows and she sees the passionate embraces of trie Countess as she bids Frederick adieu. Poor Aimee tries to win him back but is spurned. So Aimee broods, mad jealousy seizes her, deeds shall be her wnrds—awful deeds. The great benefit of " Tho Four Dare Devils "is to take place, they a\-e to go through their final scene without nets to catch them, named the " Death Leap." When Frederick flie3 from the trapeze to be caught by Aimee, she raises her bands and he drops to death, and she follows. The final scene is so pathetic that one is reduced to tears in witnessing it. All that is beautiful in the woman, all that was so hmdsome in the in an, and to end thus. Several other dramas are also listed The scenic pictures include Melbourne nnd an excursion in a dirigible. There are also vaudeville and comic films, and the whole programme may be classed as one of the finest yet presented to Wide World Pictures patrons,
