In tolling the recfuiom oi the red flag there, it also heralded in what should eventually prove a new era for the district in the reintroduction of the principles of arbitration, but under up to-date advantages and modifications. The first big clash between arbitrationists and federationists took place on Monday, beginning about 7.30, and lasting fully an hour. The scenes of Saturday afternoon and eveningwere completely outdone. The pentup feeling of the workers burst forth like a raging mountain torrent, and the main street resolved itself into a living mass of enraged humanity, a perfect 'debacle ensning. ■'.
