Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons. report:— At our weekly Westfield fat stock market on Wednesday, October 30th, our beef .pens contained 265 head. There was a falling off in the demand, and values declined from 10s to 15s per head. Choice ox sold to Ll 10s, prime Ll 6s to Ll 8s; cows and heifers, Ll to Ll 6s per 1001b ; steers ranged in price from L 7 15s to Lls 2s 6d ; cows and heifers, L sto L 9 10s. There was an average supply of fat and young calves, which sold readily, j heavy suckers L 3to L 4 3d, choice I medium suckers Ll 14s to L 2 10?,! lightLltoLl 12s, small and fresh~ j dropped 6s to 18s, weedy 3s to 5s (66 j sold). The sheep pens were moderately filled, Competition was not keen, | and values were on the downward tendency. Heavy woolly wethers, Ll 3s 6d to Ll 5s 6d, shorn 19s to Ll Is, medium to heavy woolly Ll to Ll 3s, shorn 16 to 18s 9d, unfinished woolly 17s to 19s 9d, best woolly ewes to Ll*3s 3d, shorn to 17s 6d. others, woolly 14s to ißs 6d, shorn 10s 6d to 14s (1378 sold). Spring lambs were in excess of requirements, and there was a drop of from 5s to 6s per head. Best 13s 6d to 15s 3d; good 11s 6d to 13s. others 8s to 11s (240 sold). Pigs penned in usual numbers. Light choide porkers and stores mains tamed late extreme values, and others description were lower. Choppers, L 4 5s to Lo 7s, heavy baconers L 3 5s to L 4, lighter L2"los to L 3 3s, large porkera L 2 6s to L 2 12s, smaller Ll 16s to L 2 ss, slips to Ll 13s, weaners Ll Is to Ll 6s 6d (144 sold).
