REGATTA CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the above Club was held on Friday, 25th inst. Present: Capt. Sellars, Messrs J. Constable, E. H. Cucksey, G. Cox, W. Milward, W, Scott, W. W. Bradly, Gr, Bennett, Senr., and F. Tucker. A notice of motion was read that the 6th event (Grig race), as adopted last meeting, be rescinded, and a race for Fishing Boat 3 substituted, to be called a Handicap Motor Race for Kaipara registered fishing boats. The landing charges for people other than by steamer Avas made as last yeai", Is; competing launches to be allowed two free passes. As the steamer charges will be higher to the Club this season, the fares to Shelly B6ach will be raised to 2s 6d. Children under 12 years, free. The Secretary was instructed to write and invite Capt. and Mrs Hammand to the Regatta. A charge for side shows on Beach was made as os per stand. It was resolved that tenders be called for sole rights to sell refreshments and cater on the Beach. The Secretary was instructed to obtain and appoint the judges and time> keepers for the 1913 season ; The following gentlemen were elected as handicappers : Capt. Sellars Messrs W. Sandin, and W. Cbannon, Captains Savident and Sellars were elected Yice->Commodore and starter respectively. The colours for officials for 1913 season are to be as last year, The Secretary \vas instructed to obtain quetations re Band for Regatta Day, also to make the necessary enquiries regarding a special train to leave Auckland and arrive at Mt. Rex at about 10.20 a.m., and to leave Heloneville for Auckland at G p.m. The following gentlemen wero appointed to act as a Sports Commit toe ashore : —Messrs Q. Willis (Secretary) Sumner, J. Constable, and E. Cucksey. It was resolved that the Secretary be instructed to advise members that subscriptions woro now duo, and to obtain the necossary printing, also members tickets. i'lm Sports ashore arc to consist of :—Boy's Race of 75yds ; Girl's Race of oOyds; 100 yds race for Fishermen ; Men's Boot, Rare ; Tug-of-AVar, Maoris v, Europeans; Catching tho Greasy Fig. Tho Committee meet again next Friday evening at 8 o'clock, in die Public Library.
