Alfred Buckland & Sons., Sales. ■ + ;— Messrs Alfred Buckland and Son report:— On Wednesday, September 25, at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, our entry of beef totalled 385 head. Competition was steady throughout, and values for choice ox were similar to last week, but ordinary was slightly easier. Choice ox sold to £1 iOs, prime £1 7s to £1 9s, cows and heifers Ll to Lt 6s. Steers ranged in price from L Bto LlB ; the latter price was obtained for an ox fattened by Mr Parry Sutton, of Papatoetoe. A truck of heavy choice bullocks from Mr E, Levis, of Newstead averaged Lls 3s 5, and a truck from Mr J. N. Massey, of Aka Aka Plains, averaged Ll4 4s Bd. There was a big entry of fat and young calves, which met with a free sale. Choice suckeis L 3 5s to L 4 is (no runners penned), medium suckers L 2 to v L3 3s, lighter Ll 5s to Ll 18s, small and fresh-dropped 5s to Ll 3s (121 sold).
