St. Matthews' Concert.
On Friday, September 13th, at the foresters Hal], a mc-st enjoyable musical programme was given by '■' various artists. The committee were very fortunate in obtaining the services of such artists as Miss <^nyth Evans and Mr Double, of Au6s> # and with the able assistance of :MyJp; ' Eimmer, Little and Donovan, and Messrs Drawer and G, White, one of, the best entertainments of the kind' was presented. Notwithstanding the inclement state of the weather, also other attractions, the Hall was weU H filled, and we hear that financially. the concert was a success. - Miss Gwenyth Evans, contralto, who possesses a fine rich voice gave a fine rendering of Goring Thomns' "My Heart is Weary" and her rendering of '• My Rose." (Jeanne Malcolm) was \ more than pleasing. Her encore items, of which there were many including « Douglas Gordon," were also ' well received, Miss Ritumer gave fine renderings of. « H Bacio " (Waltz song), and Amy Woodford -Findon's "Request," Mr Double, who is a . good alUround entertainer, was much appreciated, and the other items were also good.
