There was firm demand, but on account of the supply, values receded about 10s per head, expect m a few odd instances of really choice quality. Choice ox sold to Ll 11s, prime Ll 7s to Ll 9s; cows and heifers, Ll toLl 5s . steers ranged in price from L 7 12s to Ll 65s ; cuws and heifers L 4 10s to Ll3 17s 6d, Fat and young calves penned in large numbers and sold freely. Runners L 4 10s to L 5 103, heavy suckers L 3 to L 4 ss, choice medium suckers L 2 2s to L 3 ss, light Ll Ll 15s ; small and fresh dropped 5s to 18s. (83 sold.) There was about an average entry of fat sheep, including several consignments of choice heavy wethers and a few pens of extra good ewes. Prices for finished sLeep are very firm. A draft of 21 steeds from Mr. Alf Main, Tamahere, which were small, but extra well fatted, sold L) 2 17sGd to Ll-'i 15s, averaging Ll 3 18s 9d. Veal pens were well filled, and sold at late rates. Heavy vealeis sold at from ho 10s to L 4 15s, nipdium weight? L 2 Is to L 3 ss, others 20s 355, smaller and fresh-dropped, 3s tj 15s. (Sheep were yarded in full numbers, and receded in value. Best wethers sold at from 23s to 2Ps, others 18s to 225. One pen of extra heavy wethers suld at 35s 6d : heavy ewes sold at from 20s to 255, others 10s Gd to I9s ; hoggets, best quality, K>s to 18s, 12s to 15s ; best spring lambs, 18s 6d to 245, others 14s to 17s. Apatite or other raw materials are dissolved in the aitn? acid and- are then submitted to further treatment. Samples arc stated fr> contain 26 percent, of pyosphoric acid (of which 92 per cent, is in citrate soluble form) and 23.8 per co^ 1-of' nitrate of lime.
