It is pleasing to record that the satisfactory amount of £ I H] 3s was taken as the proceeds of the recent entertaiximofit in aid of the Presbyterian Church. Theie.is no doubt ''Little Re 1 Riding Hood" was well produced, the'priucipal parts showing that a Jot time had been spent by those taking them in becoming efficient, while the dresses and staging was of a good order, and taking all the trouble of the promoters into consideration, we think if the entertainment was reproduced in a month or so, it would again receive the hearty support of the gen--eral public. The principal part was taken by Miss Marie Stewart, who is shortly to proceed with iier parents to Australia, and we hope arrangements will be made to re-produce the afiailbefore her departure, as her place would be hard to fill.
On Sunday last the Rev E. E S. Forester conducted his last Services as Vicar. All the Services were!.'well attended especially;'in the evening, when the Church was filled. The Vicar during his Sermon said that he thanked ail the Church Officers for their help during his term, and especially the work done by the Lay readers in taking sermons when he was aw ray in other parts of the. dis-« trict. He wished to explain, that although his leaving appeared hunied, yet he knew three months ago that he was wanted by the Bishop to take up the work that he is now going to. But as matters were not; defiintely arranged, his tongue was tied, and. he could not announce it bjfore. In conclusion Mr Forrester hop d that the Members would rally around the new Vicar when he arrived, and give him every assistance to further the works of the Lord.
