SCHOOL COMPETITION

The Competition that is being arranged among the local Schools has now closed, and the papers forwarded to Mr C, W. Garrard. Inspector of Schools, who has kindly consented to act as judge, 134 papers were received. as follows :—Helensvilie and Kau kapakapa 32 each, Te Pua 28, Woodhill 2.6, Parkhurst 16, Allowing 2 points for a first prize, and 1 for a second prize, the possible points will be Helensvilie and Kaukapakapa 48 each, Te Pua 44, Woodhill 42, and Parkhurst 24. The school which obtains the highest percentage of points on these numbers will receive a trophy in the form of a banner to be kept in" the School for twelve months. We expect to be able to announce the names of prize winners in a fortnight's time.
