When the House of Eepre sentatives met last Wednesday afternoon, the Hon. W. F. Massey, who on the de-> feat of the Mackenzie Government was commissioned by His Excellency the Governor to form a Cabinet, announced that the task was completed, Mr a. D, Bell, K.C., had been called to the Legislative Council as leader. The various portfolios were distributed as follows :— HON. W. P. MASSEY — Prime Minister, Minister of -Agriculture, Minister of Labour, Commissioner of State Forests. Minister in Charge of Land for Settlement, "Valuation and Scenery preservation Departments.
