HOW THE PORTFOLIOS ARE DISTRIBUTED.
When the House of Eepre sentatives met last Wednesday afternoon, the Hon. W. F. Massey, who on the de-> feat of the Mackenzie Government was commissioned by His Excellency the Governor to form a Cabinet, announced that the task was completed, Mr a. D, Bell, K.C., had been called to the Legislative Council as leader. The various portfolios were distributed as follows :— HON. W. P. MASSEY — Prime Minister, Minister of -Agriculture, Minister of Labour, Commissioner of State Forests. Minister in Charge of Land for Settlement, "Valuation and Scenery preservation Departments. Salary £1600. | HON. J. ALLEN—Minister of Finance, Minister of Defence, Minister of Education,.. Minister. x)f- Education, Minister in Charge of Land and Income Tax Departments, and State Guaranteed Advances Office. Salary £1000. ■ ; | HON.' W.JH.-HERRIES:--Minister-jof Railways, Native Minister, and ! Minister in Charge of tfacing Permits. Salary/£l3oo. HON. W. Salary £1000. HON. DR. POMARE—Member of the Executive Council Representing the Native Race and in ,charge of Maori Councils, Cook and other Is-* lands Administration and Tourist and Health Resorts (including Rotorua Sanatorium and Hospitals).
