Auckland Dairy Competition.
The dairy competition which has 'been in progress during the past few months under the .auspices of the Auckland A. and P. Association haconcluded, and prizes have been awards ed according to the amount of butterfat per cow produced by each competing herd. The results were based on factory returns, and an official visit was paid to each dairy every two roonths while the competition lasted (from October 1 to April 30) by stewards appointed by the association. Much satisfaction has been expressed at the interest manifested in the competition. Numerous inquiries have already been made as to whether a similar competition is to take place during the coming season. There is every indication that entries would-be lar°"e both in this year's class (herds of. over 25 cows) and in another proposed class for hords of not loss than 10 and not more than 2.', cows. The results are as follows : — I'hst prize (cash or trophy, £10).— H.
