MANAWATU A. and P. SHOW.

As stated in a local newspaper, the Ninth Winter Show of the Manawatu A. and P. Association held at Palmerston North last week, was a " splendid recoid." It was opened on Tuesdaj by His Excellency, Lord Islington, in fine, frosty weather, and continued up to Friday night. The amount taken as gate money alone was £761 14s Id. the highest on record and £200 more than W» year. Trains on each day from all parts brought large numbers of visitors,' On Wednesday and Thursday the conveyances of country people, gigs, buggies, etc., wore lined up three deep in some of the streets and the local cabs, motor cars, and expresses were kept busy. On Thursday afternoon the weather took a turn for the worst, rain prevailing, and continued with showers until the show closed on Friday night. t The exhibits of dairying Machinery were good, the display ->f vegetables fruit, etc, excellent, the *dtsiry part first class, and the exhil JtiQn of homemade products aad school work very praisoworthy. The_. horsemanship part of the Show, taken all through was good ; the jumping being fairly clear, no injury happening to either horse , or rider. The side shows, of which there were many, appeared to be doing good business. It was difficult at times and in places to pass the thousands of visitor. There is no doubt the Palmerstqn?
