Position of Mr Coates.

A meeting of Mr. GK J. Coates' committee was held at Dargaville on Saturday night, Mr. Coates being present. It was unanimously decided that the member for Kaipara, who had pledged himself to suppert the Ward Government until June, should be relieved of his political pledges to support tho Liberal party ; the committee indicated tho desire that he should see his way clear to support Mr. Massey.

Mr. Coates, in thanking the committee for their generous consideration, .=aid that he would not be. a slav^ ish adherent of any political fjsection.
