Steers sold at from £6 17s 6d to £13 10s ; cows. £4 10s to £8 10s; heifers, £5 to £7 12s Gd, The veal pens were well filled, and sold at Jate rates. Heavy vealers sold at £4 Is; medium weight, £s 10s to £3 ; others, £1 to 35s ; small and fresh dropped, 3s to 12b. Shnep were yarded in full numbers, a;»d improved in price. Best wethers sold at from 16s lid to 20s 3d ; others, io3 3d to 16s; heavy e\yes, los Pd to 15s 3d, ottiers 10s 6d to 13s 6d ; hoggets shorn. lis to 13s 3d, others 12s to 18a. Pigs were yarded in full numbers, and sold 1 at late rates. Baconers, £2 Is to £2 12s; porkers, £1 12s to £l I8s6l; Blips, 13s to 15s.
Alfred Buckiand & Sons-, Sales. Messrs Alfred Buckiand and Sons report:— On Wednesday, June b/ at our weekly Westfield fat stock market,; our entry of fat cattle numbered 338 hoad. There was an improved demand and generally values were better worth by 10s a-head. Choice ox to £7 6s 6d, prime ox £1 4s to £[ 5s Gd, cow and His to £1 2s. Steers ranged in price from £7 osHo £13 10s, cows acd heifers, £3 17s 6d to £8 15s. There was a fair supply of fat and young calves. Ch >ice medium suckers met with a strong sale at a good advance, making from £1 15s to £2 11s, heavy plain calves £2 8s to £3 .is, medium and l;gl->t IBs to £1 13s, fresh, dropped 3s to 12s. There was a fu.l entry o? fat sheep. The bulk were wethers of prime quality. There was a firmer tone throughout, with an upward tendency.
