POLICE COURT.
FRIDAY, MAY 17.
(Before VV. Eyall Fosbroke, J. P.)
A youth named Ernest Russell who had borrowed a hoise on Thursday afternoon to have a ride, made the best use of its hire by galloping along the main Street, when he was noticed by Constable Driscoll. Next morning his joy ride cost him 7s.
MONDAY, MAY 20th. (Before J. A. Wilson, Esq., and E. C. Hammond, Esq., J'sP.) A local fisherman named G. Bur*. nett, was charged with using obscene language. Defendant pleaded not guilty, but after a deal of evidence had leen taken, the Bench decided to convict, and fine.d defendant 10s and costs 13s. An application for a prohibition order against the same defendant was adjourned sini die. Several other prohibition orders were issued, the persons consenting.
