MUSICAL SOCIETY.
The Helensville Musical Society have in hand a dramatic comedy entitled " A Breach of Promise Case" which will comprise half the programme at their next concert, to be held in about a month's time. The piece is under the capable direction of M r . H. W. Stringer, and will be a novelty for Helensville audienoes. Those taking p*rt are all members of t,he Society and the play should be much appreciated, the humour being delightful and the situations very amusing. The Society have also commenced the rehearsal of the charming operetta lt Princess Chrysanthemum" for a later preformance, also under the stage management of Mr Stringer. The music of the work is light and catching. The scene of the operetta is in Japan ; the plot centres round the Prinqes^ and the story recounts her- capture by the. litagieian and her conftnemont in his cave, while the Emperor is using all the power at his command to find her. With the aid of the good fairy Moonbeam, the Princess is qi. la.st. dis« cqyer.ed^ }\§v marriage with the inevitable favoured Prince is consummated. The work will afford ample scope for the members ' histrionic ability, some of them being exceptionally talented in this respect.
