HELENSVILLE RACING CLUB.

A meeting of the above Club was held on Friday fivening in the Public Tdhrary, when there was a good at' tendance. Mr. Jas. McLeod was voted to the chair.

The Secretary informed the meeting that the. Minister of Internal Affairs had granted the exfcention of time to 24th May, and if the race meeting was carried out successfully there was a chance of getting a permit next year. It was resolve.d that the Helensville Race Club hold a meeting on Miy 24th on the Te Makere Eace Oour&e (Mr Jas Hands property )

Mr, Jas. Hand was elected Secretary for the meeting. Patron : Mr. Gordon Coatee, M.P.; President: Mr. Jas. McLeod; Vice President : Messrs. F. Dye, B. C. Ham mond, T. F.Evans, J. A. Wilson, C. Brooks, and Dr. Meinhold. Commit^ tee: Messrs Thos. McEwin, John.Hand E. McLeod. E, Cucksey, H. Coulter, T. Callagher, A. Hunter, T. McLeod, M. Addlington, D Donovan, W. Ellett and M, Hafford; Treasurer; Mr W. Ellett; Clerk of scales : Mr John Stewart : Judge : Mr. J. A, Wilson; Starter; Mr. John Kavanagh ; Clerk of Course: Mr. E. McLeod; Timekeeper : Mr. W. A. Laird ; Auditor : Mr. H. White ; Hon. Surgeon: Dr. Meinhold; Hon. Veterinary Surgeon: Mr. Jas. Phillips; Handicapper; Mr. A list of guarantors at £2 2s each was drawn up and Messrs John Hand and T. Callagher were appointed collectors.

The preparing of the ground was left in the hand of the Secretary. It was resolved that £50 be given as prize money, and that there be six events on the programme. . The following programme was drawn up : -- Maiden Handicap of £6 1 mile; (local within a radius of 10 miles.) Hot {Springs Handicap, Local, of £8 ,seven furlongs. Publican's Purse, of £7, 1 mile; Helensville Handicap, of £15, l^ mile; Empire Handicap, of £8 1 mile; Flying Handicap. oi£6 t .6 furlong; Local races, gentlemen riders, minimum weights 9st.

It was decided that the programme be printed at once, and circulated throughout the district.

A vote of. thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
