Messrs Alfred Buckiand and Sons report:— ■At our usual weekly Westfield fat stock market on Wednesday fat cattle were penned to the number of 377 head. There was an improved demand, with a firmer tone throughout, and choice oxen were 10a a head better than late sales. Choice ox sold at £1 7f, prime £1 4s to £1 6s; cow and heifers, 17s to £1 4>; steei'3 ranged in pri< es from £7 to £! 2 10s; cows and heiftr3, £3 15 to £9 12s 6i. Fat and young calves were .short of requirement, and advariced in price. Choice heavy suo kers. £2 13a to £3 ss; rneaium, £1 15s £2 9s; small and light, 14s to £l 10s; fresh dropped, 5s to 10s. The sheep peus'were again well filled, and only a limited demand. A few pens of extra heavy prime wethers sold at last week's figures, but medmm weights wer9 Is head lower, while ewes were Is 6d below ,last report. Extra heavy 17s to 18s 6d; medium and light, Hs to 16s; best quality heavy ewes, 14s to 15s 9d; heavy, ]Is to 13s: others 7s to 10a 6d. (1842 sold.) The few lambs penned sold at late rales. Best, 13s Gd to 15s 6d; good, 11s 6d to 13s; other, 8s to 11s. (259 sold.) A moderate entry of pigs suffered with a decided drop. Baconers and porkers being fully 10s to 15s head under late quotation. Baconers, £2 5s to £2 13; large porkers, £i 10sto £1 19s, lighter lbs to £1 2s; slips, 135,t0 16s; weaners, 7s to 1.28.(283 sold.)
