SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

At the meeting of Householders held in the Helensville School on Monday evening, there were only ten present. Mr H White (secretary) opened the meeting by calling foi nominations for Chairman, when Mr Hammond was voted to fill the position.

The report and balance sheet was adopted as read.

The old committee : Messrs Becroft, Bradly, Constable, Hammond, Olive, Slmcock and White, were the only nominations received and were reelected,

The meeting then terminated,

COMMITTEE MEETING,

The newly elected committee then met, Mr R, C. Hammond being reelected chairman, and Mr H. White, secretary and treasurer.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed,

Mr Becroft was elected visiting member for the month ,of May.

The Chairman stated that the school flag had be6n repaired by Mr Le Roy for 6s, making it almost as good as new. ',

It was resolved that the committee meetings for the ensuing year be held on the 2ndTuesdav in each month.

The matter of clearing and plough ing the additional school ground was left over till next meeting for consid-, eration.

The Secretary was instructed to write to the Education Board applying for subsidy for providing stationery. On the motion of the Chairman, it was decided that Mr.Hill, Headmaster, be authorised to take up a one-penny subscription amongst the school childern towards the relief fund o£ the Titanic disaster.

Accounts amounting to £8 17s 4d were passed for payment.

TE PUA SCHOOL.

At the meeting of Householders held in the Te ]?ua School on Monday evening there was a good attendance, Mr E. O. McLeod in the chair.

The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The Committee's report and balance sheet was read and adopted. The meeting then proceeded to the election of a new Committee;

Twelve nominations were received, and a ballot was taken, Messrs E. O. MeLeod, O. H. Hpinley, W. Jowitt. R. Barnes, B. "F. McCarthy, N. W. Rimroer, and H. B. Bradly were declared duly elected.

At the meeting of the Committee after election, Mr E. 0, McLeod was elected Chairman, and Mr C. H. Spin* ley, Secretary and Treasurer ior the ensuing year.
