A meeting of the Executive Committee was held in the Secretary's Office on Saturday evening, Mr B. C. Hammond in the chair, and a good attendance of members It was resolved that the prize money for Military events at the recent show be paid out at the rate of 12s in the £. The president and Mr J. A. Wilson were authorised to sign cheques, the same to sign deeds of mortgage to the Bank on behalf of the Association.in connection with purchase of land. After some discussion it was decided to take in grazing in the same manner as the Land Company had done, the Secretary to receive a percentage of the grazing fees, for collecting same and looking after the grounds; the same rates to be charged as previously. It was resolved that the Secretary write to the Auckland A. & P. Association, asking them as to what had been done in the matter of getting the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act amended, so that Societies could sell their surplus land, and put the proceeds into improvements. As the Act stands at present the Societiescan.not do this.
