HELENSVILLE A, & P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Executive Cooi> mittee of the Helonsviile A. and P. Association was held on Saturday evening last, Mr Nicholls in the chair.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The following letter was read frcm the North Otaga A. and P. Associa-tion:—-''Dear Sirs--Owing to the daily increasing instances of animals being either cruelly injured or destroyed oj irresponsible youths discharging Pea Rifles, wg are fully persuaded that.the time has come for effective measures to bo taken to put a stop to^such wanton cruelty, and with this objeofc in view, would respectfully suggest that your Association use every endeavour in its power to have such legislation passed as would ensure protection to, animal ]jfe from what is at present a veritable "curse in the land, namely, the " PEA RIPL^. 5' This Association has taken this matter up. with enthusiasm and in adejition to the above proposed legislation, are go,ing further and petitioning for a " Gun License" throughout the Dominion, and ask the support of your Associa~ tiou in both these matters. Similar to above has been posted to kindred Associations qqd £he local M.p's., Tours faithfully, H.'F-. Gib'son, Sp- oretary."
