Whether'the ratepayers ultimately sanction the necessary expenditure or not, I think the best thanks of the community are'due" to those who have brought the scheme forward. Helensville has a valuable proposition in the Hot Springs and Baths, and as a Township should spare no reasonable expense in making the proposition of immediate.: practical value from a business' pointoof view and this can only be done by taking advantage of every possible means of bringing the Baths, nesirer to the Township. Any and every idea which will have the effect of shortening the distance, whether it De by shorter routes or quicker and cheaper transit is of the utmost importance. These Baths are destined to be ! the Sanatorium for the working classes of the City and surrounding districts of Auckland, and the people of Helensville should use every effort to make the. Baths as getatable'as possible. . : am, etc., ' i '^: - •:-- '■'■■ Joseph Rea.
