OTAMATEA REGATTA.

„ "The above Regatta held at Pahi on Tuesday, February 6th, was the most successful and largely attended for some years. Mr James Milne, Secretary, and office bearers generally carried out the lengthy programme without a hitch. -Captain G. Sellars acted as handicapper and starter. Both the acquatic arid shore events brought out good entries. The s.s. Tuirangi, in charge of Captain Sellars, acted as Flagship. The Paparoa-Matakohe Band enlivened the proceeding during the day. The amount of £64 was paid out in prize monies. In the evening a concert was held and was a fitting final to a successful gathering. Following are the results of the different-events :— Motor Launch Race, Sealed Handicap, 17 entries: Mr Fenton 1, W. AHen 2. Single-handed Punt Race, 6 entries: B. Webber 1, Mr Jackson 2. Boys Pulling Race, 4 entries : A. Donaldson 1, Jeffs 2. Horse Swimming Race, 4 entries : Tatana Kohi 1, G. Jackson 2. Motor Race, all comers, 12 entries : Hoiland 1, R. Sterling 2.
