WELLSFORD
1912 SHOW.
The above show will be held on February 29th in the Wellsford Hall' and Hall grounds and Buckland and Sons sale yards. This is the 3rd show held in Wellsford and has in-' creased in entries every year, this year being a record as far as entries are concerned. The president this year is Mr Thos. MansoD, of Hoteo, Valley, who has exerted himself somewhat having secured a considerablenumber of new members. The Vice presidents are Messrs V. Lush, of Whangarepo, and Mr Gr. H. Wilson, of Hoteo Valley, and Mr Allan Vipond,, of TeHana is the General, Supervisor,' and Mr 11. (3-. Parkington, who has held the position since the formation of the Wellsford Agricultural and Pastoral Association, is tue ever popular secretary. The Ladies Committee has for secretary Miss Becroft of Port Albert, who spares neither time or energy in bringing her part to a successful issue.
The entries promise to show an increase iv every class, especially in the sheep as in this* district .several new landowners are going entensively into this class of stock, having lately come from the sjuth. The cattle, especially in the dairing class, through , the enterprising energy of the Kaipara Dairy Faotory in Helensville South which originated .from the Directors of the Way by dairy Factory, who had in view the building up of the largest Dairy Industry in the North Auckland District, winding their factory up and bringing about the formation of - a more central factory with better communication by both water and rail. Allthe suppliers of the late' Wayby Company are shareholders in the new Company which has proved so successful since its commencement thus showing the advantage of cooperation, the Directors already considering the addition of a cheese factory for next year. This factory is taking the whole of tho cream from t'lis and the surrounding districts. The out-put haying increased and the • price received for butter fat' beiu^ much better than had been received in the past. Special trains have been arranged for this years show and it is anticipated that there will bo a biff' attendance. '• .■.... ■•. ; ■ The crops throughput the district have ' been good all round.
