At Westfield fat stock sale on January 10, the number of beef yarded (291) was smaller than usual. The demand was moderate, and prices somewhat irregular. Choice steers sold equal to 26s ordinary 22s to 24s ;choice heifer beef to 23s ; cow, 18s to 22s per 100lb jsteers ranged in price froin'£6 7s 6d to £11 17s 6d; heifers and cows, £3 to £S 2s 6d. The 55 calves penned sold at lower rates under steady competition. Heavy runners, £2 14s to £4; suckers £1 12s to £2 14s ; lighter sorts 12s £1 6s, fresh dropped 3s to 10s. The sheep pens were well filled with mutton of good quality (1684 yarded). Prime wethers sold from 19s t3.£i 2s 9d, medium 15s to 18 3d; heavy ewes made from 15s to 16s 9d others 9s 3d to 14s 9d; lambs were yarded in short requirements, and sold at an advance on last week's rates, prime making from 16s 6d to 18s; medium 17 s 3d to 14 9d, light and unfinished, 7s 6dto 9s (480 sold). An average market of pigs met with a ready eale. Baconers, £2 9s to £2 15s large porkeis, £2 Is 6d to £2 7s 6d; lighter, £1 10s 6d to £1 19s ; weaners 15s to 18s ; suckers, 6s to 7s (124501 d).
