Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report: —
At Westfield, on Wednesday, we held our usual weekly fat stock sale, tut owing to the holidays there were smaller entries in pach department. Beef totalled 178 head. Competition was brisk , and values advances £1 per head. Choice ox £1 9s, ordinary £1 ssto,£l 7s; cows and heifers, £1 2s <*o £1 si; steers ranged in price from £7 15s to £14 10s ; cows and heifers, £4 15s to £10 ss: fat and young calves sold afc late quotations; runners £3 10sto£4 ss; choice suckers, £1 15s to £3 2s ; smaller. 15s to £1 10s; small fresh dropped, 5s to 12s, Mutton sold without alteration from last report. Prime heavy weathers, 18s to 19s 3d • medium, 14s 6d to 16s 6d; weighty ewes, 13s6dto 15s 6d; others 8s 6d to 12s 6d w Lambs numbered , 857. The demand was good, but prices were a little easier than last | week. Extra heavy 17s 6d to 19s 6d ; heavy, 15s to 17s ; others, 11s to 14s 6d ; small and poor, 7s to 103 6d. The few pigs penned sold at extreme values. Large porkers £2 5s to £2 13s; lighter, £1 15s to £2 4s; woaners, 7s to 14s, (49 sold).
