BIBLE IN SCHOOL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Be good enough to allow space for a few more words re Bible in Schools. Although I believe it is wrong to ask the Government to teach religion, there is no doubt in my mind that God has given us, in the Bible, principals, which if carried out in our lives, would stop the downgrade tendency of the world and banish every evil. Everything which mars the happiness of man is the result of departing from the way of life so fully revealed in the Bible. " A Young New Zealander," in calling attention to the world's low spiritual condition, does well to point to the Bible as the source of light by which we may learn of the remedy. The Bible t says: The cause of this world's woe, is sin. Rom. 5 :12. As unrighteousness is sin. (Uohn 5 :17). It follows that a return to righteousness is the proper and only remedy. While it is true that of ourselves we can do nothing. (Jer.l3 : 23. Rom. 7 :18). God encourrges us to look to Him, assuring us of success. (Mat. 5 : 6). God has provided a way through Christ. (Isiah 53 : 6). God laid on Him our past sins. (Rom. 3 : 25). Gives us a new heart enabling us in our daily lives to fulfil the law of righteousneas. (Rom. 8: 3, 4). The Word of God is the v only fingerpost on the crooked paths of life that can point sinning and suffering humanity to righteousness and true happiness. Seek and ye shall find. (Luke 11: 9). The lack of Bible truth in the hearts of men, is retarding the wheels of progress in everything that counts for anything, but the Bible tells us we can get no help in spiritual things from WorldlyGovernments. They have their own good work. I am, etc., An Old New Zealander.
