Church of England Social

The social evening held in the Foresters' Hall supper room on Monday evening in aid of. the church was a pleasant affair, and was fairly well attended. The programme was a good one, every item being wellgiven and received: The Rev. Forrester in thanking those, who had taken part, and the audience for their presence, took the opportunity to remind them that on Saturday next there would be a Bazaar and Sale of Work In aid of the Church funds, and invited them to be present with pockets full of_ small change as there were all sorts of nice things to be offered for sale, including pillow shams, baby shams, and numerous other articles that were not shams; besides shooting gallery, bran tubs and Xmas tree.

After tea and sweetmeats, supplied by the ladies, had been partaken off, a dance followed w,hich was much enjoyed by those taking ; part. . ■: Following was the programme: Duet: " Friendship" Misses Channon and Bennett; Song; " A Warrior Bold" Mr Hill; Song: "I give you love " Miss L. E. E. S. Forrester, the audience joining in the latter : Song^ " The Carnival" Mrs Sellars.
