CORRESPONDENCE.

THE ALLEGED ROWDY NO-LICENSE MEETING.

TO THE IiDITOR. ■ Sir-, —In reply to the article published in the " Herald" of Tuesday last, 28th inst., re assault on Mr King, the No-li-cense organiser, the report has been exaggerated beyond reason. The meeting terminated at 9.30 and as is usual, a few of the younger folk held a meeting on their own, which was of a humorous nature, and this was terminated at 10.30 p.m. The Chairman v of Mr King's meeting stated to-day no assault had been made on Mr King. It is most detrimental to our peaceful township that such a report should be allowed to be circulated without having a protest made to prevent such things having a repetition in the future. The pity is that the question of National Prohibition cannot be fought in a more, manly and sportsmanlike spirit. I,am, etc., Pro Bono Publico.
