ELECTIONS.
Mr J, Gordon Coates addressed meetings at Woodliill, Wairnauku, Riverhead, and Kaukapakapa. At each meeting he was attentively listened to by fair audiences, and was accorded a vote of thanks.
ME MILLAR AND THE PEEMIERSHIP, Tho Hon. J. A. Millar speaking in Dunedin last week, when there was a packed house, said:«' He had represented the city for tho past 15 years, and by the loyal support of the Dunedin people had attained tho second highest position in the country. It was an ambition for any man who had received public support for a number of years to hope to eventually get to the top of tho tree. Ho had that ambition so long as ho could get to the top iv an honourable manner, but not otherwise. Ho proposed to ask his constituents to elect him again, with tho object that if anything happened to his chief, and Sir Joseph Ward had to give up the Leadership of the party he could present himself to the party as the natural successor to the honourable position of leadership."
