WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
The final meeting of tho above Council w*B held in the Council offices Auckland on Friday 20th Oct. Mr Jas McLeod (chairman), and a full attendance of Members were present. Amongst the business that came before the meeting was the following: Letter from S. Hamilton, Kaukapakapa asking for a new road along the river to join Wainui road at Mr J. Colgan's gate. Mr King was giving land free, and 5s per running chain was askei to help to make the fenco one side of the road. Eour miles would be saved by this new road.—Mr J. S, King, Wainui, also wrote, asking tho erection of a bridge between Mr Hamilton's farm and his own in connection with the road above mentioned Resolved that Cr. Dye and McOathie ascertain what price the land could be bought for from Mr Colgau as a first step towards executing the work. Helensville Domain Board, notifjiug that tne road between swing bridge and hot springs was in bad state.--The Chairman : "It happened through the Domain Board allowing scoria to be carted over it to the bowling green. It is now in good order." W.Palmer, re drain opened through his property at Te Pua, Helens*ille, asking it to be piped and covered in Left to Or. McLeod.
Engineer to Eaiiway Department asking £31 aa half cost of putting- in order the portion of the siding at Helensville South.— The Chairman considered that the Department, were not treating them fairly over this matter. He mov.ed they agree to the request but under protest against the annual charge of L 52. Surely a butter factory should have equal consideration with a timber company — Agreed to. . McLeod expressed his great pleasure at the cordial way Councillors had supported him during the year, and thanked them for the:r steady persistency in pushing the work appertaining to their respective* ridings.
