REGATTA MEETING.

A meeting •of those interested in holding a Regatta at Shelly Beach, (Kaipara Heads) was held in the Kaipara Hotel on Friday evening last, •when there were about 20 present. Capt. SeHars was voted to the chair.

After a short discussion as to date, it was proposed by Mr W. W.»L. Bradly and seconded by Mr H. Middleton, "That a Regatta be held, on Boxing Day, Dec. 26th, 1911, at ShelJy Beach."

The following officers were then elected: —

Commodore.— Capt. Hammond

Vice-Commodore.—Cant. Sellars

Vice-Presidents.—Messrs T. Evans, T. McEwin, Jas. Stewart, 0. Sandin, W. Johnson, A. J. Hill, E 0. McLeod "W. A. Laird,, E. S. Masters, Ihorne Buckland, W, Bishop. W. B. Card, B. Berman, J. Constable. C. Ansell, J. E, Page, Parkeß, Bei;roft, J Cain, D. Fbsbroke, Driscoll, Dr. Meinhold, and Captains Rors, Pierce, and Menzies.

Committee. —Messrs W. Bradly, Gr. Bennett, Senr., W. Scott, Jas. McLeod, E. Smith, J. A. Wilson, and Langley. Secretary.—Mr F. Tucker

Treasurer.—MrTui McEwin

Handicappers.-- Capt. Hammond, and Messrs W, Channon, and W. Sandin.

Judges.—Messrs Jas. Stewart, W. It. Fosbroke and Thos. McEwin. Starter.—Capt. Sellars, Timekeeper,—Mr W. A, Laird.

It was resolved that there be Ac - quatic and Land Sports, and the following events vere suggested to th« committee's consideration in drawing out the programme:—Sealed handicap — motor launch race, to be the first race of the day. to stait at \l. a.m.; Punt race ior fishermen; fishermen barred ; Ladies race ; Auxiliary boat race; handicap motor launch race ; Consolation motor launch race ; Fishermen's 100 yards running handicap ; Ladies race, 50yds ; Greasy pig ; Officials' race, 50 yards ; Boyg handicap race under 16, 75yds; Girls handicap race under 16, 75yds.

The meeting also suggested that the committee try and arrange for hiring the s'.s. Tuirangi as flag-ship for the day, , ' '

The first meeting of the committee will be held on Friday eveuing nest. A hearty vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
