At the Westfield Yards on Thursday last we held our usual weekly sale of dairy and store cattle. There was a good yarding and prices were the same as late quotation. Best dairy cows and heifers sold at fiom £7 5s to £9 10s, others £ 1 10s to £6 os; empty cows, £2 8s to £3 17s sd; 18-month heifers, to £3 15s; calves, 20s to 335. At the Albert Yards on Friday horses were yarded in usual numbers and sold at lute rates. Heavy draughts sold at from £25 to £44 10s; medium draughts, £18 to £27 ; light harness horses and hacks, £6 10s to £18 ; ponies and weeds, £1 5s upwards. At the Pukakohe Yards on Monday we held a special horse sale. The ad • vertised number came forward and competition was keen throughout. Heavy draught horses sold at frum £25 to £43; medium draughts, £17 10s to £30; aged and worn draughts £6 to £41; spring-cart horses, £18 to £27 10s; light harness sorts, £6 10s to £221; hacks £12 to £20 ; cobs and ponies, £5 to £16 ;*' weeds, 10s upwards; sulkey and harness, £12 10s. Out of 140 horses yarded 115 were sold. At the WestfiAld Yards on Wednesday fat cattle were yarded in full .numbers, and, with few exceptions, * the quality was excelled, first-quality ox selling up to 30s per 1001b, and otheis 2-5s to 27s 6d ; cow and heifer beef 22s to 245. Steers sold at from ' £7 to £14 7s 6dcows and heifers, £4 103 to £8 17s 6d. A draft of 24 steers from Messrs Keid Brothers, Wairanga, averaged £12 17s 6d. Calves were yarded in large numbers, and again sold at high rates. Heavy vealers sold at from £3 to £3 10; mediumweights, £2 2s to £3 ; others 20s to 36s ; smaller sorts and fresh dropped, 2s to 15s. There was a large yarding of sheep and prices were Is to 2s per head lower than la&t week, Best wethers sold to 265, others 20s to 245, inferior fatted 4*ss 6d to 19s 6d ; ewes 13a 6d to 19s 9d. Hoggets were yarded in less numbers than usual and advanced in price and sold at from 12s 6d. to 16s. Pigs were yarded in small numbers and sold at high rates.
