HELENSVILLE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

An Extraordinary General meeting of tho above Association was held in the Foresters' Hall on Thursday evening last, for the purpose of confirming a resolution passed at previous meeting. There were about 20 members present, Mr Hammond ( yice-Presi-dent) occupying the chair. The minutes of the Extraordinary Meeting held on August 12th, were read and confirmed. The Chairman moved and Mr J; C. Rirnmer seconded, that the resolution : passed at the last meeting, which read as follows :— '* That the HelensvMe A. and P. Association take over ,-the Show Ground from tho Land Company on the terms offered, " —be confirmed. Carried unanimously. As this was all the business the Extraordinary meeting then terminated. ~ :" i A^ETING OT EXECUTIVE -COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Executive was Jield; present Messrs R. C. Hammond C.'IL Spinley, H. Aitkenhead, W; L. Moyle, A. Bradly and G. Whartonf secretary). Minutes read and confirmed. A difficulty arising of a wrong allot-* Mfc nient of prize money between Messrs j^ Nicaolls and Aitkenhead was settled by Mr Aitkenhead refunding the prize money, which he said he did not wish to hold if he was not entitled to. It appears that the mistake was made in the Judges book having Mr Aitkenhead's name down as the winner while the prize tickets were put on Mr Nicholls exhibits. On the motion of Mr A. Bradly seconded by Mr Hammond, Mr J. C. Rimmer's application for the position of Secretary to the Show Committee for the ensuing year was accepted. It was settled that the »ext meeting of the Executive Committee be held on Saturday, September 9th i} at 8 p.m. in the Secretary's Office. On the motion of Mr Bradly, Mr, H. Russell was made a member of the Association, Mr Spinley proposed, Mr W. Moylfe seconded, that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded Mr G. E. Wharton, the retiring secretary, for the able manner in which he had carried out his duties for the past year.—Carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
