At the Haymarket on Friday last we had an average yarding of horses. Aged and worn draughts sold at from Ll3 15s to L25 ; grocers' cart class LI 7 10s to L25 ; buggy horses and good hacks, Lls 15s toL22 10s; light harness and ordinary riding sorts, LSlOsto LI4 ; milk-cart class, L) 2 5s to LI9 10s ;,plough horses, Lls to L27 10; gig ponies, L4 to Lll 10s. A pair of buggy mares realised L32 15s ; light trap, horse, and harness, £25 ; waggon and pair of hQrses L4O • Raleigh cart, LIS ; gig, L!3 "lOs.
On Thursday, August 17, at our weekly Westfield sale of dairy and store cattle, first quality dairy cows and heifers were in strong demand at from L8 15s to Lll 15s; second rate cows, L5 '5 to L7 10s ; aged and inferior, L2 10s to L4 10s ; empty cows L2 to L3 15s : choice yearling heifers, L8 10s to L4v 9s ; calves, LI 8s to L2 ss.
The clearance sale held on account of Mr W. H. Wheeler at West Tarnaka was moderately attended, and satisfactory prices were realised. Cows brought from L5 5s to LlO; email heifers, L3 10s to L4 10; horses. L2 12s 6d to Li 7. Implements, sundries^ and furniture sold at fair val*ues, '
