We held our usual monthly sale in the Eunciman Yards on Tuesday, August 15. There was a record entry in the dairy department and a moderate offering of stores. The latter met with a strong gale. Young cattle were from 5s to 10 rjer head better worth than late sales. Eighteen to 20-month steers brought from L 3 los to L 4 3s; yearlings to limonths, L 2 15s to L 3 8s ; strong calves to yearlings L2to L 2 10s ; calves, LI 10s to LI 16s, small and weedy Ll to Ll 8s ; 18 month heifers, L 3 to L 4 10s empty cows and heifers L 2 15s to L4ss ; fat cows, L 5 to L 6 17s. Gel. No grown steers were yarded. Dairy cows carrying second to forth calves ani at profit sold at from L 8 10s to LlO 10s ;same quality but backward L 6 J.ss to L 8 ; others, L 5 to LG 50s; aged and inferior, L 3 t-j Ll 10s.
