FORESTERS' BALL.

TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNIVERS-

ARY,

The 28th Anniversary Ball of the Court Star of Helensville which took place on Friday evening last proved one of the most brilliant functions yet held in Helensville. The weather was all that could be desired. The Hall was very tastefully decorated with nikau palms, flotvers, etc., and reflected credit to the committee who had carried it out, while the ladies with their dainty attire gave the finishing touches to the ballroom. There were about 100 couples present, and dancing commenced with the Giand March, led off by Bro. J. Russell, C.R., and was kept going merrily till early mom. Bros J.E.Lambert, P.C.R., J. Hunter, P.C.R., W. Bradly, P.C.K, and G. Willis, carried out the duties of Masters of Ceremonies; and the music, supplied by Meredith's band (4 instruments) was, as a lady was heard to remark, "deliciously lovely," both music and time being excellent.

Amongst the visiting Courts were: — Court Nil Desperandum. represented by Bros. C. H. Spinley and B, F. McCarthy; Court Star of the South, Bro. Oxenhatc; Court Excelsior, Sister Donnelly; Court Alexandra, ; Sister Parsons. The supper, provided under the management of Mr Joe Cain, was laid outm elaborate style, and included all the sweetmeats imaginable, and did crfdit to the caterer, who also had a full supply of cooling beverages in a stall at the stage entrance. The general committee of the Court are to be congratulated on the manner in which all anangements in connection with the ball had been cariied out which brought the event to such a successful issue.
