The Agents-General for the AustraHan colonies have unitedly expressed themselves in favour of the English and French Governments assuming a joint jurisdiction over the New Hebrides. The divorce case, Lord Colin Camp. bell versus Lady Colin Campbell in which the Duke of Marlborough, Captain Shaw, General Butler, and Dr. Bird were corespondents, whs concluded to-day; Lady Camphell having a lso sued for divorce. The two cases were by order of the court consolidated. After a trial lasting eightenu days, a verdict has been returned that the charge? were mutually unproven, both petitions being dismissed. The homeward maiU per Orient steamship Garonne, from Melbourne November 13th were delivered in London yesterday. (Received December 22, 1 p.m.) Later. In the Campbell divorce suit a rider to the verdict was added, stating that the failure of General Butler, a co respondent, to appear at the trial, was conduct unworthy of an officer und a gentleman. The death is announced of Sir Thomas Douglas Forsyth, the wellknown Indian statesman, aged 59. Arrived the P. and O. steamship Massilia, from xMelbourne November 4. San Francisco, December 21. Sailed on the 18th, at 8 p.m., the steamship Zealandia, for Auckland. (Received December 22, 1 p.m.) Berlin, December 21. In an interview with the Bulgarian deputation to-day, Herbert Bismarck strongly advised the Bulgarians to acc-pt Prince Nicholas, of Mincrelia, as Ruler. b (Received December 22, 1 a.m.) Paris, December 21. A Madagascar loan has been contracted with Comptier Descompte, at Pari3 on the security of the Customs revenue of that island. [SPECIAL TO MELBOURNE AGE.] London, December 8. A further hatch of 260 recidivisteg is to be shipped from France to New Caledonia on Monday next. Prince Alexander is now in London. It is rumoured that the Russian Government have entered into an arrangement with Turkey whereby they will acquire the shares held by the latter in the Suez Canal, in lieu of pay. ment by Turkey of the indemnity due by her in respect to the recent RossoTurkish war. A prospectus has been issued for a company to be floated for the construction of a railway on the laud grant system t.om York to Geraldine in W.'gt Australia. The company, which is to have a capital of £500,000. will have transferred to it concessions granted by the Government of Western Australia.
