CHRISTMAS SPORTS.

The Christmas Sports Committee met on Thursday evening; present — Messrs H. Burger (in the chair), Hudson, Fitzsimons, Benyon, Anderson, Ziegler, Mulvihill, Jorgensen, Pearn, Howe, and Rudkin (Secretary). The following resolutions were put • and carried : That Mr Callanan's name be added to the Committee.

That an agreement be taken from the Band re programme.

That Mr Black be informed that it is too late to introduce any farther amounts into the programme. That all tenderers deposit 25 per cent. on the Saturday, at noon, following the acceptance of tender. Tenders for rights on the Recreation Ground during the sports were opened and dealt with as follow :

Liquor Booth No, I.—o. W. Anderson, £25 2s 6d; L. Ziegler, £l7 10s The former was accepted. Liquor Booth No. 2.—0. W. Anderson, £l9 2s 6d; L. Ziegler, £ls. The former was accepted. Right of Games.—o. W. Andersou, £4 2s 6d; C. Pierson. £2; H. Adamson, £B.—The highest (Adamsou's) was accepted.

Frnifc Stall.—Mrs Trebilcock, £3; Mr Lousich, £2 19s 6d ; Mr Walker, £2 15s.—The first-named was accepted. Mr T. I. Hudson was appointed Judge, Mr D. Callanan Starter, and Mr J. Jorgensen Ground Secretary. It was resolved that all events be posted on a black board on the ground not less than 15 minutes before the time of starting and if not filled up •within that time the event to lapse; the Committee to substitute prizes in all events that lapse; business pertaining to events to be transacted in the committee-room, and booth-holders to have two votes.

Mr Pearn was requested to piocure jackets for wrestling; and it was ordered that a new vaulting stand be procured. The committee then adjourned to Thursday, the 23rd inst., at 7.30 p.m.
