SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Local School Committee was held in the Town Clerk’s Office last evening ; present —The Chairman (Mr Sedclon), Messrs F, Barrowman, Jamieson, Hanna, Munro, Yoysey, and Campbell (Hon. Sec.). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The inward correspondence was read and received.
Mrs Williams was granted two extra weeks’ leave of absence during the Christmas holidays. It was resolved that the publication of the Examination reports on the Kumara and Rangiriri I’nblic Schools be held over until the full report on class subjects is received from Inspector Smith.
The Hon. Secretary was requested to write to the teachers of the Kumara and Rangiriri schools, and express to them the gratification of the Committee on receiving from Inspector Smith a very satisfactory examination report on these schools.
The date for the closing of the schools for the Christmas holidays was left to the discretion of the Chairman ■End Hon. Secretary, This concluded the business of the meeting.
