REWARD FOR RESCUE. —A LUCKY WINDFALL.

Au unexpected fortune has befallen Richard Wilkinson, of Stourbridge, a carpenter by trade. A few weeks ago be was at work at Newcastle, and one evening he was walking along the Tyneside when he saw a gentleman, who was seized with a fit, fall into the river. Wilkinson jumped in, and with some difficulty saved him and assisted him home afterwards. The gentleman gave him a few shillings at the lime, and said he should never forget his services in saving his life. It now appears that the gentleman is dead, and Wilkinson has been informed he has left his property altogether of the value of over £26,000. His benefactor took down his name on the night of his rescue, but Wilkinson heard no more of him till the news of the bequest reached him last week.
