The London Press, commenting oo Count Kalnoky's speech, holds that he is pledged to resist the occupation of Bulgaria by Ra.ssia. The Bulgarian situation is now more pacific. Count Kalnoky's speech has created a favourable impression in Berlin. Sir Thomas Brassey sails to-morrow for :i year's cruise in his yacht Sunbeam, visiting India and Australia. The Secretary of (he Sydney Chamber of Commerce urges the London Cham her to discuss the question of farthing bids for the Australian wool. The Committee which regulates the wool sales in London is unlikely to consent to the proposed innovation of farthing bids. The prospects next sales are considered good. The Victorian loan is expected to be placed on the market in January. The newly-formed Australian Mutual Shipping Company will begin operations in March. It will probably work in co-nperaiiou with Tyser. It is intended to send three ships to Melbourne and three to Sydney each month. November 16. The DubliH City Council offer to cordially promote the South Australian Exhibition. The English and Australian Copper Company are applying for £35,000 od the security of debentures. The Port Darwin Gold Mining Company is announced, with a capita) of £IOO,OOO. The Company will purchase the Hawley mine for £70,000. | The Eticla (Western Australia) Land Pastoral Company has been registered with a capital of £150,000. Mukhtar Pasha, the Turkish ComJ missioner in Egypt, admits that the immediate evacuation of that country by England is impracticable. November 17. The Overland Mail arrangements, which were interrupted during the hostilities in Egypt, are now resumed.
