KUMARA HOSPITAL.

The ordinary meeting of the Hospital Trustees was held in the Town Hall last evening; present—Mr Burger (Chairman), Messrs Payue, Dungan, Zieglor, Maloney, W. Morris, and Voysey (Vice-chairman). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The inwiird correspondence was read and received. ■'■'■<['. The Chaiiman reported that Dr. Macgregor had stated that he was much pleased with the institution, and had found everything in a most satisfactory state, with the exception of the fact that a few alight alterations were necesBary. Mr Dungan also said he accompanied Professor Macgregor to the local institution, and, as Inspector, he had expressed himself highly pleased with the institution. The Wardsman's Report for the month of October was then read. It showed that the total number of inpatients treated was 13, of which 4 were discharged, and 9 remained on the 31st nit. Wm. Fahronkrug (of hemiplegia), Alex. Cross and N. Nicolaison (of bronchitis), were discharged cured; and Thomas Farley (of gastralgia) was discharged relieved. Patrick Clune (of congestion of the lungs), Owen M'Nal'y (cancer), Joseph Pfaff and Henry Healy (rheumatism), James Wilson (mal-nutrition, &c), John Rouse (rheumatic gout), John Murphy (bronchitis), John Whiston (general debility), and Andrew Carlstrom (of paraplegia), remained in the Hospital. The total attendances of out-door patients during the month was 41. The Chairman, on behalf of the House Committee reported everything going on as satisfactorily as possible, with the exception of the garden ; and they recommended that a man be employed to put it in order. Other minor improvements were also suggested. The report was received, and on the motion of Mr Morris, seconded by Mr Maloney, it was recommended tbat five new mattresses be obtained, and steps taken to have the old ones renewed. The Chairman, on behalf of tbe Building Committee, reported that satisfactory progress was being made with the Surgeon-Superintendent's residence. The Building Committee were empowered to have any small extras at the house done. Mr W. Morris was appointed on the House Commitee, vice Mr Payne. Accounts to the amount of £67 9s were passed for payment. Receipt* were handed in as follow* : By Mr W. Morris, £7 10s; Mr Payne, £2; Mr Maloney, £1 10s; MrZeigler, £3; by the Wardsman, £1 3s.—Total £ls 3s.
