The race for the Cesarewitch stakes was run at Newmarket to-day and resuited as follows : Stone Deaf 1 The Cob 2 Eurisian ... ... 3 (Received October 14, 1.15 p.m.) Later. The winner of the Cesarewitch Stakes was Stone Clink, not Stone Deaf, as previously stated. This was a telegraphic mutilation. (Received October 13, 3.10 p.m.) Melbourne, October 13. The Duke of Athol has been scratched for the LMelbourne Cup. The following are probable starters for the V.R.C. Derby :—Blair Gowrie, Chesham, Damocles, First Consul, Kingfish, Madelina, Trident, Volcano, Whitebait. Later. Zeno and Gardenia [the latter having 71b. penalty] are scratched for the Oaulfield Cup. (Received October 14, 115 p.m.) October 14. Silver King is scratched for the Caulfield Cup. The announcement of the scratching of Zeno for that event was erroneous.
