SOUTH AUSTRALIAN QUARTER’S REVENUE. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN AMENDED LAND ACT PROPOSALS. REDUCING MILITARY EXPENDITURE IN NEW SOUTH WALES. (Received October 1, 5 p.m.) Adelaide, October 1. Anived, this morning, the Messageries Maritimes steamship Sydney, from Marseilles. She brings Mauritius news to the 16th September. Ireland, Fraser, and Co.’s circular of August 30th reports that sugar crushing has commenced, and is estimated to yield from 105,000 to 110,000 tons. The market is unaltered. The South Australian revenue for the past quarter amounted to £408,000. a decrease of £122,000 as compared with the corresponding quarter of last year.
In the House of Assembly last uight, the proposals submitted by the Government to amend the Land Act in order to cover the deficiency in the revenue were rejected.

A red notion in the military expenditure of the colony is being effected. Members of the permanent forces are being decreased. Melbourne, October 1. The steamship Hauroto arrived from the Bluff this afternoon.
