An angry altercation took place last evening between several members in the vestibule of the Legislative Assembly, which culminated in a standup fight between Messrs Lyne and Clarke, and Shepherd and Dawson. The scene is described as a most disgraceful one. Melbourne, August 25. The steamship Taglia Ferro has arrived from Cambridge Gulf, bringing forty-five diggers. The majority of these had not visited Kimberley, but they generally give unfavourable reports of the field, aud urge others not to go. Adelaide, August 25. The Colonial Treasurer delivered his amended Financial Statement in the Legislative Assenbly last night, showing a material'increase in the revenue. The debit balance for the current year is now estimated at £809,000 instead of £950,000 as in the previous budget. The estimated expenditure is not changed. He proposed a reduction of salaries, to be foregone ; but the Civil Service is to be remodelled by the Treasurer. The yield of wheat this season is seven bushels per acre.
