HOSPITAL AFFAIRS.

The ordinary meeting of the Trustees of the Kumara Hospital was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening; (•resent —Mr Burger (Chairman), Mr Yoysey (Yice-Chairman), Messrs Ziegler, Payne, Maloney, and Wooldridge. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. SUBSIDIES. In reply to a communication from Mr Burger (Chairman), Mr Seddon (the member for the district) telegraphed as follows:—Subsidies to Hos pitals are as follow : 10s in the £ on behests; 24s in the £ on voluntary contributions; and £ for £ on contributions from any local authority.” RESIDENCE FOR SURGEON-SUPERINTEN-DENT. The Building Committee, by the chairman, submitted plans and specifications for building a residence for the Surgeon - Superintendent, which were examined and read and approved of. It was resolved that tenders be called for labour and material, and for labour only, in separate tenders; the work to be completed in ten weeks. It was also resolved that tenders be called for fencing a portion of the Hospital Reserve; the front fence to be of posts, rails, and palings, and the sides of wire and split palings. SUPPLIES. Tenders were then opened for service of supplies, and the following accepted:— Meat.—M. Murphy, 3J per lb.; for six months. Milk.—C. Ryder, 3fd per quart; for twelve months. Bread. —W. Heinz, fid per 41b.; for six months. Groceries and Provisions. —W. J. MTlroy and Co.; for six months. Bntter.—Keecb and Malloy, Is fid per lb. ; for twelve months. Wines and Spirits.—W. J. M'Hroy and Co. ; for twelve months. PATIENT, Mr Ziegler reported being informed by Sergt. Keating that a Mrs Hogan was badly ill. A woman was left to look after her, and to-day she was taken to the Hospital. This concluded the business of the meeting.
