(Received August 18, 1.55 p.m.) London, August 17. In the cricket match at Cheltenham, the Gloucestershire team in their first innings scored 74 rune, being 45 behind the Australians. (Received August 18, 8.30 p.m.) Evening, The cricket match, Australians v. Gloucestershire was resumed to-day at Cheltenham. The .weather was fair, and there was « good attendance. The Home team in their first innings "lily succeeded in putting together 74 ions—4s behind Australians, The latter went in a second time, and scored 119, leaving the Home team 115 to make to win. At the close of the day’s play, the Gloucestershire eleven in their second innings, had scored 58, with three wickets down. (Received August 19, 1.40 p.m.) August 18. The cricket match at Cheltenham was concluded to-day. The Gloucestershire eleven in their second inuings were only able to score 138 runs. The Australians thus won the match by 26 runs. Gaudaur, the American oarsman, has arrived here to take part in the approaching sculling sweepstakes. Negotiations are proceeding for a nia'ch between Gaudaur and Beach for £IOOO and the championship of the world.
