special train was put on at Dunedin on Thursday to convey the direct steamship Uimutaka's mails to Christchurch, which arrived at that city at half-past four on Friday morning. But for this prompt curse of action by the Dunedin postal authorities, the West Coast portion of these mails must have remained in Christchurch till to-morrow morning, and thus been received four days later. Mr Seddon, M.H.R., accompanied by Mrs Seddon, is expected to leave Wellington to-day. Mr Bevan, M.H.R., was to leave Wellington for the Coast by the Mawhera on Saturday night, and is expected to arrive at Grcymouth to-morrow. .Subscribers and others are notified that a farewell address and testimonial will be presented to the Rev. Father .Walshe, at St. Patrick's School Room, to-morrow (Tuesday) evening. Mr J. F. Wilson, of Hall and Wilson, dentists, will arrive in Kumara about Monday next, the 23rd inst., and will remain for four days only. In addition to his other certificates, Mr Wilson acquired, by his late visit to Dunedin, a certificate of the New Zealand Board of Examiners in Dentistry. Mr Wilson is one of the most expert and proficient dentists in New Zealand. Mr L.
